ParticipantCurrently, as it stands if I have students from the same family and one of them need to be put on hold, I have to reduce the monthly payment of the buyer and then you have to remember to raise the payment back up when they are back in class.
When enrolling multiple kids, they should be treated as separate records so that if one of them needs to be on hold we can go to that student, instead of the buyer, and put them on hold. When that happens it should reduce the amount to pay.I know you can put each individual kid into the system separately and it will put the buyer down as many times as you link them to the student. However, in Zen Planner you were able to add another student after you put in the first student and sign them up for whatever program. The buyer is then charged one time as opposed to multiple hits on the card. You can then go to the individual student and put them on hold. This is much easier way to this.

KeymasterHey Sir!
I think I’m following.
Are you thinking that the tuition for 2 students would be “halved” if one student is put on hold?
If that’s what you’re describing, there is a bit of a hang up handling this as you’re describing that we’ve encountered over the years.
Many schools have different configurations for how ‘much’ of the tuition is charged to each student. For example, if you have the 1st student who enrolls pays “full” price and the 2nd student get’s a 10% discount etc….. (This type of structure is quite common in our industry)
Then if one student (any student) is put ‘on hold’, you’d only want to reduce the payment for the contract by 40%….not “Half”.
From there, there are MANY permutation of how schools handle family tuition.
In the current structure, you decide how much you want to reduce the tuition when putting any number of students on hold.
Does that make sense??
Are there other factors I’m not seeing?? Perhaps a smoother way to handle?
Thanks!

ParticipantNo not like that. Here is the scenario: I have a parent with 3 kids enrolled. Two of them are in one program and the third is in another program.
Student ‘A’ is $125/Month
Student ‘B’ is $100/Month
Student ‘C’ is $86.25/MonthIn order to enroll them, I have to either A) Enroll them separately making sure to tag the buyer each time or B) Enroll them under the Buy all at once and just put their totals together.
With option ‘A’ I would be able to put on hold who I needed to, but it is a pain to sign up, make the agreement, have them sign it and then repeat two other times.
With option ‘B’ I can do one agreement, but I would would have to keep in mind which kid is paying what and then reduce his monthly payments according to who is on hold and then remember what they are paying and add it back in when the hold is done.
I am proposing that you combine both options. Put in Buyer information then sign up Student ‘A’, choose his program, and price, then be prompted is there another student? ‘Yes’…sign up Student ‘B’, choose his program and price, then be prompted is there another student? ‘Yes’…sign up Student ‘C’, choose program and price and the be prompted again. ‘No’…we are then sent to the payment information to do all the calculations and collect the payment. When all is said and done you would have one buyer under the buyer section and three students.
You would then put under ‘Actions’ for the student “Place on Hold” when this happens the amount that the student pays would be deducted from the monthly bill and when the hold is up it would be placed back in.
I hope this explains it a bit more.

KeymasterThis does help…
However, I’m describing this common scenerio:
Student 1 (regardless of “who” student 1 is) Pays – $200/month (Full Price)
Student 2 (regardless of “who” student 2 is) Pays – 10% less than Full Price (180 in this case)
Student 3 (regardless of “who” student 3 is) Pays – 20% less than Full Price (160).So, as you outlined above, IF you configured that ‘per specific person’ (ie. Johhny Pays 200, Billy pays 180, Sally pays 160.)
Then – IF Johnny get’s put on hold/cancels etc, you’d be suspending $200 payments…..but you really want to be suspending the “3rd” family member’s payments (160)
We have many clients (including my own schools) who operate under this paradigm.
I think you can see where the permutations are nearly infinite, and get pretty complex pretty quickly.
We need to be able to accomplish ‘both’ versions of this.
You’re “Core” point though is well heard though……are there ways that we can make is “easier” to put some number of students on hold/cancel etc…
Any thoughts???
