Seems I cannot use the finger scanner with mac, and using the ipad as a check in is not great since the names are blocked by the keyboard pop up (which slows the process). Any other suggestions besides having a separate computer? Is it possible to redesign the check-in screen so it fits better on ipads/tablets?

Yeah….unfortunately, the software that runs the “Digital Persona” technology is a Microsoft product, and they don’t want to play nice with Apple 🙁 .

Interesting feedback on the iPad……few have a lot of clients that use that for check in.

I’m looking at mine right now, it seems that if I type 3 letters or so, I can see 3 results before the keyboard gets in the way (depending on how many ‘styles’ the student is in.)

Is that what you’re seeing too? (I’m using a iPad Air 2)

I think we could tweak that a bit to be able to see more (at risk of the ‘check in’ buttons being ‘closer’ to each other, perhaps creating more potential for a student to check in the wrong person….)

Let me take a closer look at that and see if there are ways to show more.

I agree! I portrait orientation it’s too small, hard to read and select. In  landscape orientation the “keyboard” blocks the search results. I’m using a Kindle

Interesting. We developed this page using iPad Air 2 as the model.

Landscape mode is definitely a non-starter as the keyboard fills 1/2 of the screen.

But if the portrait mode is too “small”…..if we make the search area and result ‘bigger’ you’ll be able to see even less results…..therefore likely making the initial issue even worse.

Hmmmm…..I’ll have the team take a look at the UI…..but I think I’m hearing 2 mutually exclusive issues here.

Mike, what size Kindle are you using??

I am using ipad 2. The size of it is comparable to the air, so I can’t see that being the issue. It honestly maybe easier if you put together a basic app that is a “check in” app for ipads/tablets. But also understand it will be faster to keep it connect via web-app.

We’re looking at where we might be able to make this layout more easy to see “more”….but it’s a bit of a 7-10 split.
