Currently you can set up ‘Tips’ as a way to help mark someone who is eligible for testing. However, these work like rank and must be done in a specific order. It would be nice to have a feature where we can simply assign ‘Tips’ or ‘Lessons’ (Example: Basic techniques) and then allow up to mark them off in any order needed. So example: We use a stripe system, with a rotating curriculum. We break down our stripes based on the general lessons of our curriculum, Techniques, Weapons, Forms, Misc. Self Defense, Sparring. So one week our curriculum will focus on Techniques, and the next week we will cover Forms. Now some people who excel in forms but not so much in sparring, so they may get their forms stripe before sparring. So what we would like to have is a way to click off that they completed their forms stripe without having to have another stripe required prior.
As it stands, if I was to list out the tips, I have to follow a specific order, meaning if I have sparring before forms, I would have to give them their sparring stripe before forms, even though they may have already earned their form stripe. To add to that we also do half belts which require 3 specific stripes to be eligible, though they will need all stripes achieved in order to receive their next rank.
Having the ability to award in order makes it easier for us to track who has what and who is eligible for what.
Sir,
This is would be a great concept to incorporate in ATLAS. We’ll discuss how this type of system could be implemented into ATLAS to enhance the current functionality.
Thank you for the suggestion and keep them coming.
If you have any further suggestions or concerns please feel free to let us know.
Sincerely,
Jose Rodriguez
